Pea4Ever: a turnaround for the protein pea

Pea4Ever is an R&D programme of unprecedented scale, designed to sustainably transform pea cultivation in France and Europe.

Faced with the decline in cultivated areas over the past thirty years, the French oilseed-protein sector is mobilising to remove the techno-economic barriers that hinder the development of this strategic legume.

As part of the National Plant Protein Strategy, Pea4Ever aims to double the acreage of grain legumes by 2030 to reach 300,000 hectares of peas in France. To achieve this, the programme targets the main lever: genetic progress.
